OUR STORY

Concept 3 Movement is home to an independent holistic health and well – being studio offering a range of services from Pilates to Personal Training. Our maxim and ethos is very much centred around client focus. Guiding each individual to achieve their holistic health potential by empowering them to feel purposeful and valued through movement.

Studio Director Chucks has over 20 years experience in the fitness, health and wellness industry and is passionate about each individual achieving their holistic health and well – being potential. This attribute he sees in all his instructors and is a very important component for anyone joining the team.

After a period of doing a series of unfilled jobs that in his own words were not “soul enriching” Chucks embarked on a journey in order to seek a change of career and life. He decided to approach his local gym and asked whether they had any vacancies as a gym instructor and it was at this point the journey started for him as a humble gym instructor in 1999 at the then called Holmes Place.

Having excelled at club level and after 4 years at Holmes Place and achieving some real tangible success with clients he moved to Southfields in 2003 to develop his holistic and well being vision and has been in his current location since then but for a short period where he was freelance.

In 1999 he gained his first entry level health and fitness qualification and went on to gain certifications with the American College of Sports Medicine ( ACSM), the CHEK Institute ( Corrective Holistic Exercise Kinesiology ) and the Gray Institute of Functional Science. Due to his desire to work also with special populations and individuals recovering from serious illness and post surgery he was able to attain the General Practitioner  exercise qualification in the GP Exercise Referral Programme Consultant qualification ( ERPC) which allows him to work with General Practictioners in an exercise prescription capacity.

Chucks has also advised and appeared on Breakfast TV ( GMTV on the “Lorraine” show with Martin Lewis of Money Supermarket fame ) and had a very successful Breakfast radio stint during the 2012 London Olympics where he had to field challenging questions on a live radio phone in. Answering questions on the then forthcoming London Olympics, personal challenges people are facing and how to overcome them and the current state of the nations health and what measures could be implemented to improve things.

In 2014 leading up to the World Cup he had the privilege of training Premier League football professionals who had sought his help for specific biomechanic and movement goals.

He regularly hosts and gives talks at Concept 3 Movement on a wide range of subjects from Liver Health, Rebalancing Hormone Levels Naturally, Posture and Corrective Exercise and the 4 Doctors of Dr Diet and Dr Quiet ( Yin ) and Dr Happiness and Dr Movement ( Yang ).

Roxana Cristescu
Yoga Instructor

Roxana Cristescu

I've been practicing yoga for over 10 years and l am now in my 4th year of teaching. I absolutely have a deep love this discipline, with everyday being so different and for me it's a way of life that I will continue to pursue as it has changed my life completely. Sport has always been a very important part of my life with a background as a martial arts instructor which enhances my yoga development and instruction. My main focus would be developing strength, balance and flexibility with extra emphasis on alignment for a deeper yoga experience and they all embody the core essentials of my teaching. Although Yoga can be challenging, the long term benefits would include improved focus, concentration, clarity of thought and overall feeling of well-being and total fulfilment. I teach Vinyasa, Hatha, Ashtanga, Rocket, Power Yoga but also more restorative yoga and Yin. Some classes will feel technical and strong whilst others more relaxed with emphasis on stretch orientation. However I believe in not only focusing on one style of yoga but by taking what works for the individual from various styles and combining them into one cohesive modality specific for that individual or the particular class. I like to keep up to speed with the latest medical research in my particular area of expertise and my mantra will always echo the one of Concept 3 Movement where we are in unison in believing movement therapy is the one of the best ways to maintain a healthy mind, body, soul and spirit.

Zoë Mørken
Pilates Instructor

Zoë Mørken

Born and raised in New Zealand with 14 years of classical ballet training, Zoë first discovered Pilates whilst living in California and soon fell in love with the biomechanics behind Joseph Pilates' method. In 2012 she moved to London and started her Pilates Mat diploma which had a strong emphasis on the Anatomy and Physiology behind Pilates inspiring her to continue to develop her skills and attend local workshops on postal alignment. Zoë loves seeing people learn to love their bodies and find health and strength through Pilates and hopes this year to complete both her, pre & post natal Pilates training as well as her Reformer qualification. Her passion for Pilates first started on her own personal (and ongoing) journey pursuing being fully alive and loving every inch of herself. She has found that Pilates can bring inspiration as you build both strength and confidence, and at the same time helping you to slow down, focus, and invest time in yourself. Her dream is to see people around her, herself included, learn to love and accept themselves where they are at and to embrace the journey they are on.
